Undefeated pound-for-pound boxing deity, Floyd Mayweather Jr., has reportedly hand-picked his next opponent, former two-time world champion Amir Khan, according to multiple reports out of England.
Mayweather and Khan are expected to meet on May 3, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at a venue to be determined in what is already being dubbed a “$200 million blockbuster” that will air on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV).
“Money” is fresh off a majority decision-winning performance over Saul “Canelo” Alvarez last month, which was the “highest-grossing event of all-time” with $150 million in total sales, generating about 2.2 million PPV buys.
Immediately after the near-perfect performance against an up-and-coming prospect who many combat sports pundits predicted would provide his stiffest challenge in recent memory, most immediately speculated about who Mayweather would fight next.
